“DAODAS – The Power of Teen Drug Use: Why Teens Are at High Risk”

Tue, Jul 14, 2020 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT

Officer Jermaine Galloway, the Tall Cop, is hosting a series of nationwide webinars on today’s various, evolving drug trend topics. With many people unable to attend drug seminars, but the drug trends are rapidly increasing, evolving, and are more available, we wanted to be on top of these issues through webinars.

Description: In this session, The Tall Cop welcomes Brain Development expert, Karen Williams. Karen is a highly regarded national speaker/trainer. Karen makes learning about the brain fun. You want to know what is going on with the youth brain (therefore actions) in regards to substance abuse? There are 75 differences between the teen and adult brains, and each difference has the potential to increase the power of drug use, and to change the trajectory of young lives. How do drugs gain their special power over youth? Which kids are at the highest risk, especially for the use of tobacco, marijuana and alcohol? Why are teens more at risk for addiction? What can the various professional sectors from SRO’s and probation to mental health do to impact youth behavior immediately and in the long term? This workshop answers these questions and more.
