Lunch Series: Support Your Student in Transition

Made possible by the SC Spinal Cord Injury Association and South Carolina Vocational
Rehabilitation Department, SCLEADS (Leadership Education and Advocacy
Development for Students) is hosting a weekly virtual “lunch hour” series for parents
and teachers to help continue our mission of educating and training on self-advocacy for
students with disabilities.

These one-hour training sessions will feature topics such as self-advocacy, selfdetermination, IEPs, and transition services to keep you informed on how to help your
student or child take an active role in their education.

When?
Lunch Series will be held each Tuesday in July from 12:00PM to 1:00 PM
All sessions will be recorded

For whom?
Anyone working with students with disabilities or students in transition!
What will we cover?

The following organizations will each be doing one-hour weekly sessions:
July 6 – Family Connection of SC(link is external) – Tracie Hayward, presents “Understanding the
IEP”
July 13 – Richland County School District 1(https://www.richlandone.org/) – Angenitta Bounds,
Postsecondary Transition Program Consultant, presents “Planning for Transition: Beginning with the End in Mind”
July 20 – Transition Alliance of South Carolina (TASC)(link is external) – Leah Cordoni presents:
“Self-Determination – Independence and Choice for People with Disabilities”
July 27 – SC Vocational Rehabilitation (SCVRD)(link is external) – “Jeni” Garner presents: “Planning
for Transition with SCVRD
