Our annual Hopes and Dreams Conference offers professionals, family members, and self advocates the opportunity to learn more about resources and support available to the special needs community. We are excited to have you join us this year!

Each day of the four-day conference will include Exhibitor Drop-In sessions immediately following the scheduled trainings.

Exhibitors will be highlighted during at the scheduled times and will have five minutes for their presentation followed by 15 minutes for Q&A.

Camp Burnt Gin, Division of CYSHCN / DHEC

Camp Burnt Gin is a summer camp for children, teens and young adults who have physical disabilities and chronic illnesses. The camp is operated by SC DHEC and is a program within the Division of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs. This summer, to prevent the spread of COVID 19,  we have canceled our summer sessions and are offering a virtual program, CBG ‘n Me. Come here all about how we are engaging families through online activities and live virtual events this summer!

Transition Alliance of South Carolina

TASC partners and project staff housed at the Center for Disability Resources developed an infrastructure to support local interagency transition teams. Together, we build capacity for transition programming at the state level, while also serving as a bridge to and between local communities in South Carolina.

Special Adult Network of Dentists (SANDs)

Special Adult Network of Dentists (SANDs) is a project of the Medical University of SC, funded by the Duke Endowment., to connect adults with special needs to dental care providers. Our goals are to improve access to quality, evidence-based oral health care for Special Health Care Needs (SHCN) populations, improve oral health clinical indicators for SHCN patients, and move SHCN patients from emergency, episodic treatment into routine dental care in a dental home within their community.

SC Respite Coalition

The focus of the SC Respite Coalition is to be a resource for caregivers to take a break from caregiving. The Lifespan Respite Voucher Program is focused on caregiver relief, with awards in the amount of $500 to eligible family caregivers. Our staff works with each approved family to find the best respite option for their needs. Vouchers are only used to pay for breaks from hands-on caregiving.
