Child Health and Development

Developmental milestones are things most children can do by a certain age, such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye bye”. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move.

Developmental Screening takes a closer look at how your child is developing.

Screening can identify your child’s strengths, uncover new milestones to celebrate, and reveal any areas where your child may need support. It helps you understand your child’s development and know what to look for next. A developmental screening tool does NOT provide a diagnosis for your child. If the screening tool identifies an area of concern, a formal developmental evaluation may be needed.

The Ages & Stages Questionnaire®, Third Edition (ASQ-3) is a valid, reliable, and age appropriate developmental screening tool that is filled out by the true expert on your child—you! If you have any concerns about how your child plays, learns, speaks, behaves, and moves, take the ASQ-3 now.

Many children with developmental delays are not identified as early as possible. Screening tools allow us to recognize potential delays sooner and provide early intervention, which is a key factor for children experiencing positive outcomes in the future.
