Kate is outgoing, friendly, and empathetic. Kate loves to talk to new people when out and about. She loves to be silly and laugh.

Having a diagnosis of Down syndrome, Kate has faced challenges and delays in meeting milestones, which makes it even more rewarding when she does meet them. If she encounters a task that’s a little challenging, she takes a deep breath and tells herself, “You’ve got this!” She continues to show everyone around her just how awesome she is.

Some of Kate’s favorite things to do are playing with her little sister, jumping on the trampoline, and playing with baby dolls. She also loves watching videos on her tablet and dressing up. Kate is also very aware of when people are upset and in need of a hug or a smile. Almost everyone falls in love with Kate as soon as they meet her.

Kate’s mom, Brooke says: “Our whole family became better after Kate came along. We are more aware and accepting of people’s differences. We’ve learned to cherish time with family.”
