DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOP:    Do special education terms and acronyms seem like alphabet soup? Jumbled up and confusing? This training will help BIPs and FBAs make sense! Participants will learn the importance of requesting a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and the purpose and importance of playing an active role in the creation of a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) when there is a concern regarding their child’s behavior in school. During this workshop participants will also learn about procedural safeguards for students related to discipline; specifically, manifestation determination review (MDR).
