Cora Mae is a bright, loving, and determined young girl who brings joy to everyone she meets. At the age of two, her family noticed Cora Mae’s words decreasing, and she was not meeting her developmental milestones. With the right support, including speech and occupational therapy, she has made incredible strides—from being able to speak just five words to now speaking nearly 100—and gaining independence from her remarkable progress. Thanks to Family Connection, Cora Mae and her family have gained access to local resources that have helped shape her journey since receiving a diagnosis of autism.
Every new word Cora Mae learns is a reason to celebrate, but her accomplishments extend beyond her progress with speech. She recently won the title of America’s International Miss Princess and has dedicated over 100 hours of community service through her big sister’s foundation, Crowns for Hunger, where she proudly serves as an ambassador.
Approaching life with resilience and an infectious spirit, Cora Mae never gives up. She may not always get it right on the first try, but she keeps going, always ready with a smile and a hug for anyone in need. With continued support and a heart full of determination, Cora Mae is proving that she is perfectly made—just the way she is.
Cora Mae’s favorite things include spending time with her big sister, Jamie, playing with her dollhouse, swimming, watching TV, and being with her friends at pageants. Her presence has completed her family. She is their missing piece, making their lives fuller and more beautiful.
Looking ahead, Cora Mae’s family hopes she will continue to grow into a strong, independent young woman who sees her differences as strengths. They want the world to know that not all disabilities are visible, and that kindness can make all the difference. Cora Mae embodies this message every day, reminding us all to “just love like Cora Mae.”
