Known as ‘Ollie’, Oliver is a ball of fun anywhere he goes. His silly demeanor draws people to him, and it doesn’t hurt when he flashes a smile.
Being a social butterfly, it is only fitting that Ollie’s favorite thing to do is play with his best friend Lochlan. If Lochlan is busy, Ollie is playing with his dogs, playing video games, and dancing to EDM music.
Oliver was born with a heart defect and had open heart surgery when he was six months old. He is now diagnosed with Down syndrome. Ollie is achieving goals left and right. He has played three years of baseball on the Oakland A’s through The Miracle League of Columbia. He is also a part of ‘Papa Tank Theatre for Inclusion’ and absolutely loves it. Somehow the front of a stage always calls his name creating smiles and laughter all around him. If there is free time, Ollie is rocking out on his electric drum set.
“I would like the world to know that my little boy is so much more than his diagnosis but his diagnosis is still a beautiful thing. I want the world to know that it’s okay to celebrate the things we love about Down syndrome while also respecting the individual who happens to have Down syndrome,” Ollie’s mom, Meg says. “I want the world to know that my son is learning where his place in this world is, just like your child may be, and he deserves that place just as much.”
