Jacob’s infectious laugh, his love for hugs and kisses, and his ability to brighten even the hardest day remind those around him to cherish life’s simplest moments. His carefree, energetic personality shines in everything he does, from playing with toys that make sounds to enjoying popcorn and Canada Dry ginger ale.

Born prematurely at 25 weeks, Jacob and his twin brother Matthew entered the world on Christmas Eve. Despite many challenges—including hearing loss, surgeries for cochlear implants, a cataract removal, cerebral palsy, global developmental delay, and an autism diagnosis—Jacob has defied every expectation.

“We were told he would never be able to sit up, stand, or walk without assistance,” his mom said. “Now, Jacob runs, climbs, and even participates in Special Olympics, where he has won first and second place over the past three years.”

Jacob’s progress and determination are constant sources of inspiration for his family. Whether it is walking for the first time on the gym floor at Buford High School, taking the initiative to feed himself, or winning medals, Jacob continues to surprise and amaze.

Jacob has changed his family in profound ways, teaching them about unconditional love, patience, and resilience. “Jacob is a blessing from God,” his mom says. “He’s taught us how to protect, support, and cherish one another.”

As for the future, Jacob’s mom dreams of him learning to speak and continuing to develop life skills that will lead to greater independence. With each milestone, Jacob shows the world that his potential is limitless.
