Angel, also as AJ, has a name that truly fits him. Described by his mother as her miracle child, AJ’s journey has been filled with strength, perseverance, and joy. His presence brightens every room, and his smile has a way of reaching the hearts of those around him.

AJ was born with medical complexities and uses a wheelchair. He is an easygoing, happy child who loves watching soccer and YouTube on his iPad. A thoughtful observer with a big personality, his joy is contagious. One of his mom’s proudest moments came recently when, after years of being nonverbal, he looked up and said “hi” back to a neighbor. It was a small moment that carried so much meaning and proof of AJ’s growth, connection, and ability to surprise.

The journey for this boy and his family has been challenging at times. Navigating accessibility, getting the right assistance, and managing the complex needs of a medically fragile child can feel overwhelming. AJ’s mom has found strength in the support she has received. It has made all the difference during the toughest times, helping her feel a little less alone and more capable of advocating for her son.

AJ’s story is one of quiet strength. He brings peace and completeness to his family—a piece of the puzzle they did not even know was missing. His mother hopes the world sees AJ the way she does: by his light, his love, and the endless potential that lives within him.
