Javi’s positive energy is contagious, and he gives the best hugs! Sometimes he will just walk up to a person and give them a hug, and they often respond with open arms and hug him right back. He is sweet, lovable, and a bit of a jokester. “When putting puzzles together, he will intentionally try to put the cow where the pig belongs, and when you try to help him correct it, he will continue trying the wrong spot and just laugh and laugh,” says his mom, Shelli.
Javi loves drawing, and his favorite new toy is his Magnadoodle. This year, he started full-day Pre-K and has been making incredible progress. He is counting, identifying shapes and animals, and saying so many words! His big sister Chloe understands him the best, and their interactions are always sweet and endearing.
Javi was born with a diagnosis of Down syndrome. Shelli says that as a result of his esophageal atresia, Javi is struggling with his feeding. He has been eating most of his food for almost a year, but still relies on his G-tube for medications.
Javi’s family would like the world to know that he is a brilliant little boy whose timeline is a little different than most, but they never want him to be underestimated or discounted because of his disability. A boy who rarely lets anything get him down, Javi always seems to find a way to happily get a task done!
