David is a bright, cheerful 15-year-old with a love for life and a heart for connecting with others. He adores all things Donald Duck and has a natural ability to make people smile with his jokes and kindness. David enjoys reading with his father, playing piano, dancing, swimming, and riding amusement park rides. Holidays hold a special place in his heart, and his excitement for celebrations brings extra joy to his family. Whether he is helping with chores or having fun outdoors, David’s enthusiasm and energy follow him wherever he goes.

David’s journey has been remarkable and inspiring. Born with a congenital heart defect, David underwent open-heart surgery at MUSC before he was three months old. He also has diagnoses of autism, anxiety, and developmental delays. Always taking on challenges, David has flourished over the past four years at the Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment, and continues to develop strong life skills and a love for the performing arts. In 2024, he participated in his second dance recital with the Goins Dancing school, played piano in his first recital at Freeway Music, and published a poem in Kids in Print through Richland Library.

David’s joyful spirit and determination inspire everyone around him. His ability to see the good in each day reminds his family of life’s simple yet extraordinary moments.
