A bubbly toddler, Patience is happy listening to music, singing alphabet and number songs, and collecting things. Her favorite toys include her farm animals and a Montessori game where she puts letters into different slots to form words. She also learns new ways to play and learn from her big sister, Raven.
Both Patience and her sister Micah, who is a year older, have a diagnosis of autism. Their family has created an Instagram blog about the girls and they find joy in sharing how the girls are growing, exploring, and progressing in their development. Their mom, Ashley, describes Patience as a very tenacious learner. “Patience is building on her ability to retain information and organize it. I cannot wait to see what she does next with her skills.”
In school, Patience enjoys painting and counting, and is making progress in speech and phonics. She likes going to the park and playing on the swings. When visiting the beach, she will splash her hands in the water, but her passion is to search the shore and collect seashells.
Ashley believes her children are just like any other kids, and she hopes that through their blog people will be kind, patient, and eager to learn about aspects of autism they may not be aware of.
