Micah loves to boldly explore new things. Whether it is trying new things on the monkey bars, climbing, jumping in the ocean, or learning how to ride a scooter with her big sister Raven, she will go for it! Micah pursues physical activities including playing tag, using exercise balls, jumping on splash pads, and driving her sister’s race car. At school, she likes painting, trying new foods in the cafeteria, and the playground sandbox.
Micah and her younger sister, Patience, have a diagnosis of autism. Their mom, Ashley, says “We are inspired by the girls’ ability to keep learning and try new things despite their sensory sensitivities and physical challenges.” Recently, the girls have been having bursts of speech that delight their family, and they look forward to full conversations with both girls.
When Micah is not seeking adventures outdoors, she may be at home dancing with her big sister, playing with fidget spinners, or working on her writing.
“Micah and her sister, Patience, have made us more aware of what is important in our lives” says Ashley. “There is nothing more important than family. We have changed our lifestyle, careers, and location to accommodate the girls’ needs and our family has grown stronger for it.”
