Susana, or Lostalito as her family calls her, is a girl with a free spirit who knows no fear. She is a sociable person who loves to greet everyone around her. She finds happiness in spending time with people.
Susana was born with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. She has had a total of eight surgeries on her legs. At the age of seven, she walked for the first time. Today, at age 17, she is healthier and stronger than ever. Her family still hasn’t heard her voice, but her mother, Eveling, continues to hope that one day she will hear Susana say “mama”. Susana inspires her family because she does not give up, even in difficult situations. She serves as a great example of strength and resilience.
One of Susana’s favorite hobbies is horseback riding. She loves farms and animals and adores the sea. She also enjoys fishing. She likes to watch the garbage trucks pass by and share greetings with the truck driver. One of Susana’s amazing accomplishments is running in the Special Olympics each year.
“Our daughter has a beautiful way of looking at life,” says her mother. “Her perspectives are unique. She sees the best in everyone. We feel very grateful to God for the blessing of having Susana with us every day.”
