Harrison is a 13-year-old young man who can light up a room with his infectious smile. Harrison enjoys sports, especially football, basketball, and golf. Some of his favorite sporting events to watch are the games his brother participates in.
Harrison has diagnoses of autism and Phelan-McDermid syndrome, a rare genetic condition. Along with his developmental and physical disabilities, which require multiple hospitalizations, dietary restrictions, Harrison continues to be an inspiration to his family through the resiliency he shows. Harrison’s family was able to capture a very precious milestone on video – the moment he said “Mama” – a moment his mom holds onto as a very fond memory.
His family has learned to celebrate the small victories and to lean on those who have stood by their side. Harrison’s family has also learned to be able to find daily glimpses of joy and how to find strength in their community around them.
Harrison’s family is excited to be a part of the LOOK! campaign so they, too, can be a part of an opportunity to raise awareness through sharing his story. His family hopes those who read his story will be motivated to cherish life’s simplest moments.
