An outgoing individual, Caleb does not concern himself with unnecessary stress or the opinions of others. He has been described as “Mr. Personality” throughout his time in school and is always happy to cut a rug. “He dances all the time like no one is watching” says his mother, Tracy. She describes his attitude as free and unapologetic and says, “It’s like an invitation for those around him to be their own silly, crazy selves too.” Caleb is wired to be himself and nothing else, and his attitude makes others want to do the same.

Diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual delay when he was younger, Caleb has made tremendous progress. He has successfully completed three years of physical therapy as well as eight years of speech and occupational therapy. Caleb’s mom offers a safe space for him and offers the support that allows him to express himself in his own way. She believes his future holds more independence and numerous opportunities to grow and discover.

Caleb’s optimism keeps him tackling any obstacle that may fall in his way. He expresses his positive attitude to others with frequent fist bumps and compliments. Mom Tracy says it is easy for him to get excited about the little things and this reminds her to do the same. Caleb is happy with a good day of swimming or bowling, but just as fulfilled hanging out watching YouTube. One thing is for sure; time spent with Caleb is time well spent.
