Turner Classic Movies celebration of Disability Pride Month
Gold Pictures is thrilled to announce that our award-winning film CinemAbility: The Art of Inclusion is screening again on Turner Classic Movies TCM to coincide with July’s celebration of disability pride month, promoting disability culture and visibility!
On Monday, July 28, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will feature a Disability in Film Showcase co-hosted by our friends ReelAbilities Director of Engagement Lawrence Carter-Long and TCM’s “Noir Alley” host Eddie Muller. This one-night event also highlights three powerful and rarely seen films—Compensation (1999), Bad Day at Black Rock (1955), Ship of Fools (1965) and perhaps saving the best for last, CinemAbility: The Art of Inclusion (2018) — that reframe how disability is portrayed on screen across genres and decades. These cinematic selections explore themes of access, ableism, race, and resilience in ways that still resonate today.
