William, who goes by Ethan, is a vibrant 13-year-old with an unforgettable smile and a joyful spirit. His journey has been marked by determination, resilience, and moments that have left his family in awe of all that he continues to accomplish.
Ethan’s life has not followed a typical path. Early on, doctors expressed doubts about some of the milestones he might reach. There was uncertainty regarding whether he would ever walk or feed himself. But Ethan had his own plans. One of the most powerful moments in his story came when he took his very first steps. Not only did he walk, but he also ran, jumped, and embraced freedom of movement with energy and excitement.
Another incredible milestone was when he began eating on his own. There was a time when feeding himself seemed out of reach, but now Ethan has a big appetite and a true love for food. Watching him enjoy meals today is something his family never takes for granted, it is a daily reminder of how far he has come.
Reflective of his bubbly, outgoing personality, Ethan loves to jump, spin, and splash in the water. Trampoline and water parks are some of his favorite places. But food remains his biggest passion, he enjoys every bite with joy and enthusiasm. What makes Ethan truly special, though, is his strength of spirit. He is patient and determined and his perseverance inspires everyone around him, encouraging them to stay strong and never give up on a goal.
Ethan’s gift of patience has inspired his family, and they have learned to move at his pace, and base expectations on Ethan’s unique timeline. Ethan’s presence has shaped his family into more compassionate, understanding, and loving people.
“If there’s one thing I want the world to know,” says his mom, Jasmine, “it is that Ethan is full of strength, determination, and love. That big, bright smile he wears—it holds the spirit of a fighter and the heart of a champion.”
