Ethan has been bringing curiosity, laughter, and love to everyone around him from the day he was born. His journey has been filled with growth, determination, and unforgettable moments that continue to inspire those who know him best. Whether he is bouncing with excitement, playing outside, or laughing in church as the pastor speaks, Ethan spreads joy effortlessly. His facial expressions, especially when trying new foods or goofing around with his dad, are priceless. His head-to-head cuddles and joyful laughter are just a few of the ways he shows his affection.
He is full of personality: funny, fearless, sweet, and adventurous. He has a diagnosis of Spina Bifida, which affects his mobility, but he is still always on the move! He reminds his mom of Where the Wild Things Are—bold and playful. Ethan loves the outdoors, books, and spending time with friends on the playground or at community events. If you catch him on a swing or cruising in Dad’s truck, you will see him completely in his element.
A few of Ethan’s proudest moments include joining the general education classroom, making big strides in mobility, and exploring augmentative speech communication tools. His family even participated in their first triathlon together, inspired by Ethan’s adventurous spirit. From swimming lessons to getting a new bike, he is always ready to try something new and surprise everyone with his enthusiasm.
Ethan has changed his family for the better—bringing light, laughter, and new connections into their lives. He has taught them patience, flexibility, and the value of living authentically. Every step he takes reminds them to let go of worry, take chances, and approach life with joy and resilience.
To know Ethan is to know this: He believes in living fully, no shortcuts; He has a heart as big as his dreams; and he teaches everyone around him to embrace life exactly as it is. He is a joyful reminder that every child has something special to offer, and his story is one of love, resilience, and endless possibility. Looking ahead, his family hopes to see Ethan continue to grow in confidence and independence. They envision him graduating with a diploma, attending college with a 504 plan, and making the most of every opportunity that comes his way.
