Job Title: Training & Communications Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Director of Special Education

Location: State Office, Columbia, South Carolina (Hybrid; statewide travel required)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt


Position Summary

The Training & Communications Manager manages training logistics, develops communications and outreach materials, supports digital learning production, and ensures training events and materials are delivered accurately, on time, and in alignment with organizational priorities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Training Coordination and Operations
    Coordinate logistics for trainings, webinars, workshops, and conferences
    Manage calendars, registrations, schedules, materials, and event preparation
    Track deadlines, deliverables, and follow-up items for training initiatives
    Prepare agendas, reports, meeting notes, and training documentation
    Maintain accurate attendance records, evaluation data, and training files
  • Communications and Messaging
    Develop training communications and promotional materials in collaboration with the Senior Director of Special Education
    Draft and distribute emails, responsible for creating, writing training newsletter, flyers, website updates, and social media posts
    Ensure messaging is clear, family-friendly, culturally responsive, and consistent with organizational brand
    Support storytelling and outreach to increase training participation and engagement
  • Content Support and Digital Learning
    Support production of training materials, slides, handouts, and digital learning resources
    Format, edit, and publish approved educational content
    Assist with webinars, online learning modules, and training newsletters
    Ensure materials meet accessibility standards and inclusive communication practices
  • Outreach and Engagement
    Promote trainings and learning opportunities to families, partners, and stakeholders
    Support outreach strategies to reach underserved communities
    Maintain training-related website and digital content
    Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to expand participation
  • Evaluation and Reporting Support
    Administer post-training surveys and collect participant feedback
    Compile attendance data and evaluation summaries
    Identify trends and support improvements to training delivery
    Assist with reporting and data tracking in collaboration with leadership
  • Administrative and Team Support
    Support cross-departmental coordination related to training initiatives
    Attend organizational meetings as required
    Maintain confidentiality and accurate program records
    Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Public Relations, Business, or a related field

Two to five years of experience in training coordination, project management, communications, project coordination, event planning, or program support

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once without losing accuracy
  • Strong written communication, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to learn systems quickly and work independently
  • Strong professionalism, reliability, and work ethic
