Kenji is a little ray of sunshine. He loves his family and lights up any room he walks into. He is one of the most perfect little children you will ever meet. Kenji is very cheerful and a joy to be around. His family loves his way of giving a kiss by grabbing your face and trying to come toward you with his mouth wide open. His favorite thing to do is play with his brother Knoel. As soon as he gets on the floor, Kenji gets excited and ready to play with him.
Having a child with Down Syndrome is still very new to his family. Every day seems like a challenge, from all the therapies to doctors’ appointments. Kenji’s family was told to expect heart and kidney surgeries, but so far, he has not had to face any surgeries.
His low muscle tone has presented a major challenge with crawling and walking, but Kenji is making progress with his army crawl. When he first started moving around the house, he would roll around instead of crawling. But now that he has started his army crawl, he takes off through the house!
His mom wants to see him enjoy life. No matter the disabilities he may have, the sky is the limit for Kenji!
Every day, parents of children with disabilities, chronic health conditions, and mental health concerns are faced with the difficulty of trying to understand and access much needed services for their child or loved one. Family Connection of SC is a one stop, parent-led organization designed to meet the individualized needs of families.
