William is a ball of energy who loves helping and sticking up for others when he notices someone having a rough day. He remembers everything, so be careful about what you say around him! He is very talented with music, video games, and creating digital images and loves Disney characters and making people laugh. He also loves practicing his guitar and playing Minecraft with his older sister.
When William was around four, his family noticed that he was delayed in certain areas. They scheduled occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy, but his mom expressed how hard it was to acknowledge that her amazing and unique son might have autism. Once William was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, he was able to get the support and resources that he needed.
Fast forward five years and William is doing amazing. From swimming and traveling to trying new foods and experiencing new activities, his family has seen so much growth in William.
Making friends can be challenging, especially at this age. Sometimes William has a hard time with boundaries because he is such a caring person. If people don’t know him, they may misinterpret William showing that he cares.
William’s mom loves seeing how excited he has been to receive awards at school for effort, creativity and helpfulness – things he puts a great amount of effort into achieving daily at home and with his classmates.
His parents hope that William will continue to love life without boundaries or fear, and that he will continue to excel in this world despite the restrictions that society and others may try to put on him.
