Nate is a truly sweet, silly, shy, yet friendly boy. He is so loving that if he sees someone hurting, he is often the first to approach them and offer a helping hand. Nate’s favorite activities are coloring, working on puzzles, watching TV, and reading. His parents often experience proud moments with their organized and helpful son. The other day, he took clean clothes out of the dryer and folded them!
Finding a diagnosis for Nate was a struggle. When he was a year old, he attended early childhood intervention, where they said he was fine. It was not until preschool that he was referred to a developmental pediatrician and he was diagnosed with autism. Nate struggled with fine motor skills and had a very limited palate, but after a year in occupational therapy, he was able to try new foods and learned how to zip and button his clothes.
Nate’s mom, Shauna, shares that she can see him becoming an amazing artist one day and sees a bright future for him – taking care of himself, having a family of his own and being a man of God. She wants the world to know that, if given the chance, they will truly see the sweet and smart Nate that his family cherishes each day. To know him is to love him!
