Lily is a very happy girl who LOVES mac and cheese. She enjoys watching Elmo, playing in water, and listening to music. She loves giving hugs and kisses and is the sweetest baby girl, though she definitely has a sassy side. She knows what she likes and doesn’t like and isn’t afraid to show it—even pushing your hand away when she’s had enough. She loves to laugh when she’s being tickled and enjoys playing with her dog and her big sister.
Lily was diagnosed with Down syndrome during her mother’s pregnancy, when doctors also discovered that she had a hole in her heart. Immediately after birth, she was rushed to the NICU, where she stayed for 51 days before receiving G-tube surgery. Her heart condition placed too much strain on her heart so she was unable to feed from a bottle.
In 2025, Lily underwent open-heart surgery to repair the hole in her heart, and during the procedure, doctors discovered and repaired a second hole as well. She was then diagnosed with cataracts and underwent cataract removal surgery. She is now doing well, with no future surgeries in sight!
Some meaningful moments for Lily’s family have been when she learned to roll over, sit up, and eat and drink by mouth. Since she has experienced severe oral aversions and relied on a feeding tube early on, this was an incredible milestone. Lily continues to bring her family closer together and shows everyone how much is possible, even at such a young age. She is a beautiful soul who warms the hearts of everyone around her.
