Tripp’s personality is truly one of a kind. He boldly expresses his feelings on his own terms, with a sensory-seeking spirit and a wild side that loves jumping, climbing, and exploring the world around him. He has a deep love for music and finds joy in organizing and arranging his toys. You never know when he might suddenly burst into the ABCs or proudly spell his name out loud. When Tripp shows love, he gives it with his whole heart. His hugs can make anyone melt, and his kind, soulful eyes have a way of making people feel truly seen. Tripp’s laugh and smile spread happiness to everyone.
Diagnosed on his second birthday with autism, global developmental delay, and receptive speech delay, Tripp has made significant progress. He has benefitted from working with amazing teachers since 3K, as well as speech, physical and occupational therapists. Communication—both verbal and nonverbal—has been challenging for Tripp. In the past year, he started to use more words and sounds and is excited to be learning how to use his augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) device.
When he is not in school or therapy, Tripp loves to play in the water, eat crunchy foods, jump in his bounce house, and explore the outdoors! During the summer, he becomes a little fish who will swim nonstop. He also loves to read books and match them to his toys. His favorite books are by author Eric Carle and he has all of them memorized.
Tripp possesses an unwavering determination. He takes on challenges with grit and resilience, refusing to back down when he has his mind set. His resolve in mastering a new skill and overcoming a setback is a force to be reckoned with. He brings his family joy by reminding them to slow down and enjoy the little moments and to celebrate the smallest of accomplishments. He has a passion for life and brings love into the world around him.
