Jaxon is the sweetest, most loving cuddle bug who is constantly smiling. He loves it when we give him kisses. He laughs at his little brother all the time. He is on cloud nine when his Popaw or Pop Pop come to see him.
He loves music and the attention of his family, teachers, and therapists. He enjoys being pushed fast in his stroller – the more off trail and bumpier the better. Jaxon has participated in the Leo’s Pride Foundation Fun Run the past two years. He gets pushed by runners from M3 running club in a special racing stroller and then enjoys the adaptive sensory park afterward.
Jaxon has cerebral palsy, startle epilepsy, and cortical visual impairment. His journey has been an uphill battle, but he keeps a good attitude.
The flu or even just a cold can land Jaxon in the hospital for weeks at a time, needing oxygen and round-the-clock breathing treatments. Surgery to straighten his spine has helped tremendously with his breathing and decreased his need to be hospitalized. His family is very grateful to the doctors and to God for this major step. Jaxon has been trying to hold his head up, which has been a struggle for so long. He has also been alert and participating in school and with therapy much better since his surgery.
Jaxon’s family is so proud of him for having such a good attitude despite his challenges. He has taught his family patience, teamwork, and perseverance. They try to look at the small blessings and take each day at a time. He has given them so much love and joy. His mom says she thinks he says mama sometimes and would love to hear it regularly!
