Ashley is an extremely loving, affectionate, cheerful, and determined little girl. She is, without a doubt, the joy of the house. Ashley will play with her family, tickling or doing something until she gets a smile from one of her loved ones. She loves swimming, going to the park, and flying in airplanes. Her dream is to skydive from a helicopter.
This resilient girl learns little by little, but she always tries, even knowing it might be difficult. Ashley was diagnosed with autism and one of her biggest challenges is being in public places with a lot of people. Managing the outbursts and big feelings that crowds can cause is often very difficult. This year, Ashley has been learning more words, which her family recognizes as a great achievement.
A source of pride for Ashley’s family is knowing that she has a pure heart, so much love and a sincere smile. She is also an organized girl who helps her teacher keep the classroom tidy every day. Ashley’s mom, Yokasta, wants the world to know that Ashley has been a great blessing in her life, a precious gift, and that through her she has learned so much. Autism is an opportunity to be more tolerant and to judge people less, and most importantly, to have more love for others.
