Jordan, otherwise known as Nugget, is very sociable and full of energy. This silly little girl is a big flirt, smiling and giggling with every guy she meets. Most of all, she is incredibly loving. She snuggles in for naps, gives plenty of hugs, and always wants to be picked up and held. Jordan loves to barrel headfirst down the slide and climb on everything in sight. She enjoys swinging, going for walks, playing with her kitchen, watching Ms. Rachel, blowing bubbles, and listening to fun, upbeat music.
Around 16 weeks into pregnancy, Jordan’s parents learned she would be born with Down syndrome. Her first month of life was spent in the NICU, where she faced early medical challenges. Due to low muscle tone, she did not crawl and she experienced delays in her physical development. At two years old, however, Jordan began walking and climbing, showing her determination and strength. She was later diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Even after surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids, she still requires a ventilator while she sleeps. Right now, her biggest challenge is communicating, as she is nonverbal and working to express herself in new ways.
Jordan’s story is also one of resilience and deep love. After seven years of infertility, including surgeries and IVF treatments, her parents describe her as their most wanted and cherished gift. Despite difficult moments, including a complicated delivery and a long NICU stay, Jordan has been a source of light and purpose. Her mother shares that every milestone feels extraordinary, from learning to eat solid foods to taking her first steps.
Jordan is strong, determined, and never gives up. Her perseverance inspires everyone around her. Every moment with Jordan is a reminder of joy, strength, and the beauty found in unexpected paths.
