Imani approaches life with a sharp intelligence. She is a lovable and huggable young girl who brings light to everyone around her. She loves learning and being active at school. She especially enjoys interacting with her peers and teachers at Project Hope and spending quality time with her family. Most of all, she has a joyful spirit! Her laugh is a beautiful reminder of all that you can accomplish through faith.
Born at only 25 weeks, Imani faced many challenges right away. She has survived major surgeries, including heart surgery to close a murmur. After seven months in the NICU, her family’s biggest highlight was her discharge in 2019. Throughout the COVID-19 shutdown, she was on oxygen and a feeding tube, which left her parents fearful of how they would get Imani the care that she needed. Today, at six years old, she has transitioned from a fragile infant on oxygen to a bright and resilient girl.
Imani, meaning faith, truly lives up to her name. Her mom, Lynnette, says Imani is “a living testament of faith and reminds me that you can survive any storm.”
She hopes Imani will continue being the bright, smart girl she is, living a life without limits, where her story of survival serves as an inspiration to others.
Imani proves every day that her tiny beginning will never hold her back from her big potential.
