When the School Calls About Behavior: Understanding Behavior Intervention Plans and Functional Behavior Assessments

When a child with disabilities is having a behavior problem that interferes with their learning or the learning of others, the team must consider the use of positive behavior interventions and supports to address the behavior.  Karen Elfner with the Behavior Alliance of South Carolina will share best practices for addressing problem behavior at school. Join this virtual session to learn about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and how it pertains to functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention plans. We will also cover how to conduct effective behavior intervention plan, process for progress monitoring a behavior intervention plan and additional resources to in preparing or reviewing a plan.
