This webinar will explain what a life care plan is and outline the steps for creating one for a loved one with special needs. Caregivers often worry most about what will happen to their dependent after they are gone. The workshop addresses ongoing needs and planning strategies to support continued care and quality of life. Topics include protecting eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid, establishing special needs trusts, preparing a will, understanding guardianship, using ABLE accounts, and writing a letter of intent. Participants will learn about comprehensive planning steps, available resources, and practical tools for developing a personalized agenda. This customized plan can help families stay organized and make informed decisions suited to their circumstances. Following the recommended planning stages can help ensure that a loved one receives appropriate support now and in the future. The event/workshop will be held virtually and welcomes caregivers at every planning stage.
