How does this speaker series benefit parents? CYVYC’s speaker series offers four easy-to-access webinars for parents, each conducted over Zoom and recorded. This series is intended for parents of youth and young adults with IDD who are interested in gathering information about the range of options for providing decision-making support. The series reviews the facts and myths about these options, discusses ways to maximize youth decision-making and self-determination, and emphasizes strategies and action steps for parents and youth. Stories from youth with IDD and their parents will serve as real world examples of how these options can be used. It’s never too early or too late to learn about alternatives!
